     I wanted to share one of my assignments from this past week with y'all! I'm actually quite proud of this one, you can see a larger version of it in my gallery.      This was actually not the original draft of this piece. When I first submitted it, my professor said "You understood the assignment correctly, but I think you may have missed the note that this was intended to be a three-hour pose. I’d like to see you spend more time developing the drawing so it feels more complete. Please resubmit it once you’ve had a chance to work on it further." Honestly, it wasn't unfair critique, but the vague nature of the comments didn't really help. I developed the shadows a bit more, which brought us to this final product. If she doesn't like it this time, well... I give up. Hopefully, this is enough.      Well, that's all I have this week. Bye for now!

     Sorry for the later than usual post, I was locking in on my assignments lol. Anyway, I saw Third Eye Blind yesterday, it was really fun! I was able to get to get to the barricade (which is probably because the median age of 3EB's fanbase is high enough that they want to spare their knees and not stand in the pit), so I got some nice pictures.      Funnily enough, I actually knew the drummer of the opening act, Soft Echo. He was the old supervisor at my job. I ended up snagging one of his drumsticks.   Schoolwise, we started our self driven collection this past week. I'm super excited to show y'all the final product! I feel a lot more inspired this time than I did with the previous assignment. Well, that's about all I've got to report. Bye for now!

     Here's the final lineup for my project! It's honestly a bit funny how I felt so unmotivated until the very end. I guess the pressure of the deadline got me off my ass. I'm actually quite proud of how it turned out. I don't have much else to report today, so this blog is gonna be a rather short one. I have one more assignment I need to try and force myself to do before 11pm tonight. Bye for now!

     I have an assignment due today, and I am just COMPLETELY unmotivated to do it. It's not that the assignment is hard, I'm just uninspired. For the assignment, we have to design 30 different garments for the brand collection project I talked about a couple weeks ago. Being confined to the specific brand and theme I have for this project just makes it so hard for me to pump out good ideas. I have a lot of ideas in general, but not many apply to this specific project.      Here are some of the preliminary sketches I have so far. The theme I was given was "1950s France" and the brand is a California-based  streetwear brand called Ryoko Rain, so I kinda went with this time travel theme to combine these wildly different styles. It would probably make more sense within the context of the mood board and stuff. I'll post it all together next week when the final project is all done. Sorry for the short post today, I've just been really busy. Bye for now!

     Yesterday was my birthday. I had gotten my hair done the day prior, but I didn't really do much on the actual day, just got boba and did school work. Here's a picture of my new hair (it looks a lot brighter in better lighting, lol). Can you tell I'm REALLY into the black/yellow color scheme? Anyway, I've never really celebrated my birthday. I've just never really had the funds or the social circle to have a proper party.       The last time I threw anything even remotely like a birthday party was my 10th birthday. We lived in Florida at the time, and the "party" consisted of me, my parents, and two friends from school. We walked around downtown St. Augustine and went on one of those weird historical tour things where all the tour guides are in character and stuff.       I don't have too much to share this week. I finished the primary patch sewing for my soda can pants, now I just need to add the can tabs how I want them. I haven't started on that yet, but I'll be sure to post pictures when I do!      School's been going pretty well. In my fashion design class, we have to go through the process of designing a hypothetical collection for a pre-existing brand —  brand research, theme boards, design mockups, the whole process. Honestly, I've always found projects like this uninteresting. Not because I don't think they provide valuable insight into the topic, but because I've never been good at leaning into others' aesthetics. Like, I have to research this company's "brand DNA" in order to make a suitable collection for their target customer, but what about *my* brand DNA, you know?  Hello! I'm so excited to post my first blog post for y'all! My goal is to update the blog and weekly song every sunday. I'll mostly be posting about things that I'm working on, but I might also just ramble about my day if I have nothing else to report.       Currently, I'm working on using cut up soda cans to patch/embellish my clothing. I've actually been working on this for a while, but I've only recently started making notable progress. Here's an image of the pants I've been working on!  I also plan to sew the can tabs to the other pocket kinda like sequins or something, but I want to get the main sewing done first. I'll be sure to add the finished product to my gallery!      Well, that's all I have for now. Classes start back up on Monday, so I have to prepare for that. Bye for now!
